Social media is being incorporated into the channels strategies of Higher Education institutes more and more because of necessity. The students are changing and are becoming digital natives who need to operate and be communicated with in a whole new way. Children aged 12-17 experienced a 59% decrease in using web-based email in 2011 (comScore). This is a result of these adolescents using the mobile device more and using social media at velocity that is challenging the speed of light. Not only does this apply to the way higher education does recruiting, but also the way in which its professors and support staff enhance learning and engage with current students.
