Facebook - Approaching 10 Years
Just imagine for a moment if you and I were connected to one another in Facebook, which just so happens to be the largest social network in the world. How big? Well, Facebook is the size today of the entire Internet in 2004. There are close to 1 billion people friending, Liking, commenting, sharing, and engaging in Facebook…that’s roughly 12% of the world’s population. Facebook is single-handedly responsible for reducing the degrees of separation between people from 6 to 3.74 and has done so at supersonic speeds. In a little more than a year from now, Facebook will have been around for a full decade. The infographic below shows how Facebook began as a small Harvard-based site and propelled in to a global superpower going on 9 years old.
